Manica (Latin for "long sleeve") with regard to Roman gladiators means a protection from the shoulder to the hand.
There are few illustrations that show Roman soldiers that wore manicae. However, they did not belong to the standard arming.
In contrast to the soldiers most gladiators used a protection like this.
The protection was worn on the side where the arms were born. The material varied: There were some made of leather, cloth, metal or with combined materials.
This manica made by Deepeeka is well processed, robust and well suited for LARP and light reenactment. Brown leather scales are fixed to a brown Cloth, not black ones as pictured.
